Ah, Friends. They really were there for us when the rain started to pour and just like they’ve been there before. And we’re still there for them too, thanks to Netflix and Comedy Central. I have so many shows that I’ve added on Netflix and yet, I mostly watch Friends (and The Office). Friends is timeless and it’s a show that never fails to make me laugh. Reliably good comedy.
With six main characters and plenty of supporting characters as well, we are all bound to relate to at least one character. In my case, while I strongly relate to one character, there are traits of other characters that I relate to that I have nowt to do but create a hybrid. Well, I didn’t create it, my sister did.
In the words of my sister: “You have Phoebe’s personality, Chandler’s jokes and Monica’s competitiveness.” And I’m very, very, very satisfied with that! I am an oddball, a goofball and yet, I’m playing to win!

I think I’m a weird mix of Monica and Chandler: I like eating too much, cleaning and controlling things, but I’m also annoyingly sarcastic, secret softie and logical.
I remember watching all the season in one summer. I had severe withdrawal symptoms when it was over (although I remember seasons 8 and 9 to be on the tedious side).

I’m most like Ross ’cause I’m kind of a dork and was briefly a college English professor. My best friend is most like Chandler. Ideal mate is Rachel. Least favorite is Gunther. Favorite guest/supporting character is Jack Geller, too.

You are definitely an intellectual like Ross, no doubt about it. Although I would mix Ted Mosby’s love of learning about presidents in the mix. I love how your choices align with Ross’s choices. And of course a Ross would dislike Gunther, lol. No surprised there!
I think Jack Geller might just be everyone’s favourite g/s character. What’s not to love, eh?

You definitely have Chandlers sense of humour otherwise I wouldn’t be laughing at your comments (and the comments you leave on other people’s posts… I’m not stalking but when I go to the comment section, I see you’ve left some madness 🤣) and Ross’s intelligence and interests. I just realised people will think I hate Ross but I rated in terms of how relatable they are and he is my opposite. I love Ross, he gave us some of the maddest moments.

I’m not creative enough to do it. But the tutorials are relaxing. I’m always surprised by what they can do.

You don’t need to be creative to do makeup, trust me. I got the lowest grade in Art class & I can do it… well, I can follow the tutorials very well. And shit, you know I didn’t even realise that you both have the same surname… but clearly it’s destiny lol.

I think that we see different aspects of ourselves in each character from all stories. It’s what makes a good show or a good book. Even shows with “bad guys”. We have to be able to relate to villain as well as the hero.

Hmm. I’m thinking a good villain is one we can relate to, maybe not so much in action, but where we, at the very least, understand their motives. Otherwise, I think you’ll love this show… well, like, it is universally good. 🙂

We watch this show a lot. It’s one of my wife’s favorite shows.
I also was half asleep when I commented. 😂 my main point was that good characters are a reflection of the different aspects of the writer. We each have a inner Joey, Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Monica and Pheobe.

Being competitive is stressful, I’m telling you, but the organisation skills, yes. Her organisation skills are amazing. Otherwise, Chandler is hilarious and creative and persuasive when it matters. He’s very loving and generous also which we sometimes forget. ☺️

I’m… Chandlonica? I’m just as painfully awkward as Chandler, and will definitely crack a joke to deflect the feeling that I’m doing it all wrong, but I’m also sort of a control-freak if people allow me to. And well, I’m the one cooking when there’s a gathering, so there’s that lol.

That has literally been the case all my life, everyone throwing leadership on me w/o even asking if I want to but… I think when I’m a leader for what I actually want to do, k don’t mind so much. Also, isn’t it annoying when other people try to bank on it and get you to organise their birthdays? Middle fingers up if you grown, you can do it yourself toddles.

I’m surprised you didn’t add in Ross to the mix. I don’t know how that friendship is working, but one of you is Chandler and the other is Joey. Joey is a sweetheart, so loving and a rock steady friend. ❤️ I love them all! The group wouldn’t exist without Monica, Monica is the glue. 🙂 And the others all bring something wonderful and I wouldn’t have learnt so many life lessons from the show without Rachel lol.

I didn’t really pay much attention to the show but I found Monica a little dominating and Rachel’s and Ross’s on and off relationship was rather disturbing?!

So is Hermione, bro, but Monica does it with warmth, at the very least. Rachel & Ross’s on and off relationship was a migraine but as I’ve been rewatching, I’m starting to understand from Rachel’s perspective. The balding of that girl pissed me right off but everything else was understandable and I admire for how boldly she follows her heart. It takes so much guts to admit you still love someone & for that, Rachel taught me a lot about life.
