Taking the MBTI Test

A few years ago, my friend introduced me to the MBTI test. After taking the test, I went down a rabbit-hole and researched as much as I could about the reasoning behind it and its accuracy. There are other tests online and studies which debate its accuracy but, for the most part, we can’t all be neatly fitted into boxes. A personality test isn’t going to reason away every aspect of what makes you who you are as we’re complex creatures so why not just enjoy it!

I was a bit sad to do a video without my sister or my cousin but I’m sure we’ll do plenty more in the future. I just need to let you guys know beforehand that I do sniff alot and to not take offence at me choosing parties over books. I have warned y’all that I’m not a typical WordPress bookworm, I’d rather be disturbed to talk than continue reading (except when I was reading the Harry Potter series, it’s the only exception to the rule). And guys, I better see someone who scores as an extrovert, at least one person because this community is far too saturated by introverts and it’s making me feel like a weirdo.

Anyway, here is the link to the test, remember to answer honestly. Watch the video below and let’s compare results!

  1. Ha! I can tell you right off the bat I’m introverted lol. 97% lmao! I got ISFJ-T which is new to me (Intoverted, Observant, Feeling, Judging, Turbulent). The last time I took one of these tests, it was years ago. But it seems my personality has changed. Apparently I’ve mellowed out a bit haha.

  2. Observant and Feeling are new. I was always Intuitive and Thinking. I have become a lot more observant haha and I guess I do have a “healthier” relationship with feelings. Mine and those of others. Although my feeling score was at 56% so I guess I balance out my decisions. Which is interesting.

    1. I mentioned a cognitive functions test which is meant to be more accurate, who knows it might change if you do that one. I think we’re all of these traits, it’s just the degree we use varies and I guess when we mature we become more in tune with the functions we’ve repressed. I would compare the INTJ v ISFJ and see which one you relate to. Shayne mentions below that she’s INTJ, but you guys are so different lol (well, seemingly anyway)! I usually border on the T v F function, but I have to remember that just because I’m analytical, it doesn’t mean that I’m the most logical… if I look at the characters of Entp v Enfp, I know I relate to the Enfp’s more.

      1. Haha I used to be a little like Sheldon. He’s so logical at times he borders on rude. I was like that but not on such a high level lol. I’m more attuned with feelings and emotions now. Which is why I say I mellowed out haha. I think it’s relatively true. I looked at INTJ again and went “yeah, that’s not me anymore” lol

        1. Oh no… boy I hate Sheldon with a passion lol. Poor Leonard, do people not see how he suffered, Amy humanised him a little. Don’t think he’s INTJ though, he’s more INTP and I have heard that he may be, may be, on the spectrum which makes me sound bad but I don’t know, he’s difficult.

  3. I swear we’re always on the same wavelength! I love the MBTI! Just like with the Zodiac, a lot of the descriptions can sometimes be vague and apply to anyone, but I put a little more faith in the MBTI. Learning I’m an INTJ seriously helped me figure out a lot of my personality quirks!

    1. Zodiac signs are vague on a whole different level, you have to pull up your astrology chart to go in depth… and then there’s decans as well (there’s 3 for each sign). I will admit, I’m a stereotypical Gemini.
You know, I would have never guessed you’re an INTJ! You look too nice and smiley. 😂 not that they aren’t, but I would have guessed something else. I’ve been seeing ENFP faces, and omg we all look so similar, it’s unreal. And also, ENFP and INTJ are supposed to be good friends as well. 😉

      1. Haha I’ve always been told I’m a typical Capricorn, but I always though the descriptions sounded like they could apply to anyone.
Looks can be deceiving 😉 And that’s a good sign! I always got along really well with ENFJs, so ENFPs shouldn’t be much different!

        1. IxTJ’s seem to come across as Capricorn’s as well which is lovely, they’re usually very ISxJ too as well. The Gemini celebrities all seem very similar… creative and outspoken. But we’ll forget Trump is one loool urgh.
Girl, ENFJ’s share zero functions with ENFP based on typology but we both have that zany vibe going on. I think we will, you’re social skills are really good so I was surprised that you weren’t an F!

          1. Haha there are always a few poor examples! (Petyr Balish from GoT is considered an INTJ and though he’s strategic, he’s totally shady and manipulative!) I think the zany vibe is what stands out most in my ENFJ friends! As for my social skills, I’m cooler on the internet!

            1. Lol, poor INTJ’s, they usually get the villains as their fictional characters… surely, there must be some good examples?
ENFJ’s are both zany and serious at the same time, they exude this mature vibe. ENFP’s we’re all goofballs but can be guarded about our deeper feelings.
No, I think social skills still translate online, so you have to have some skills in the first place… I don’t mean coolness, but just general good communication skills. 😉

              1. Katniss Everdeen! She’s a good one! And I have more time to think of good responses on the internet, thus giving the illusion of someone more socially savvy! But thank you for having faith in me!!

  4. Isn’t it amazing how accurate these things are?! We took it in College, I can’t remember exactly what mine was, and unfortunately the video isn’t loading because I’m on an airplane… but you’ve inspired me to take it again to find out!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I think you have to double-click, it wasn’t loading on mine too at first but it worked after double clicking.
And yes, they can be eerily accurate lol in a wonderful way though because you learn so much about yourself. Do take it and let me know what you get, there is a link above the video. Mine is ENFP btw. 🎉

  5. People tend to think I’m an extrovert until they get to know me better 😂. I am usually friendly but you definitely don’t want to see me at the end of the day, when I’m out of energy. I’m just a social introvert.

  6. Oh and have you heard of the Enneagram? An another personality theory. There are 9 basic types based on 9 core fears. And there are wings, instinctual variants and tri-types. It is more open-minded than the MBTI. I’ve just discovered it recently. It’s always so fun to read about those things and take personality tests right? 😉

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Omg… me and @curioushart we’re discussing this a few months ago. Enneagram is wonderful because it shows you how not all types are the same, they’re all unique in their own little way. I’m a 7w8, but 742 tri-type if I remember correctly! What about you?
And yes, personality tests are fun and a little too addicting. 😂

      Liked by 1 person

      1. I’m a 5w6, probably a 593 tri-type.
Even though it sounds silly, I think no one actually understands themselves. We love personality tests because it tells us more about ourselves and confirming what we’ve already know. 😋

        Liked by 1 person

        1. Haha, I still haven’t ever seen an INTP identify as anything other than as a 5w6. 🤣 The 7 is strong in almost all ExxP’s, I think.
Yes, I agree, we don’t really know ourselves on such a deep level which is why these tests are so comforting… I think our gut knows who we are as a core though, I guess it’s down to whether we listen to it. 🤷‍♀️

          1. Yeah, the MBTI and Enneagram is somehow connected to each other. But there are some people whose MBTI type and Enneagram is completely opposite.
It must be hard because two halves of their brain will constantly fight over each other to figure out what they really wanted to do. For example, a Te dominant with a 9 core wants to speak up but also wants to keep the harmony in the group since 9 is afraid of conflict.
We should feel blessed because our Enneagram is quite normal for our MBTI. 😀

  7. Awesome vid! I just like the MBTI because it opens up a bunch of questions, insights, and characters (lol) both fictional and historical that really seem to fall in line with my type. I just took the test again and yep, INFJ (the A is a new aspect for me, don’t think the quiz had that last time, but I like that “Assertive” because I’m an introvert, but I also f///ing like it, and I am more extroverted in certain situations and I love extroverts, they bring out the adventurer in me) (Phew lol).

In fact, I’ve often thought of myself as an INFJ wanting to live in an ENFP world (quite a few of my friends are ENFP). I’m the Tulio to someone’s Miguel, the Neville to someone’s Luna, the Wilson to their House (or Watson to their Sherlock), the Fezzik to their Inigo. I’m the not-quite-sidekick/enabler/right hand just full of puns and references and genre savvy-ness to someone’s more leader-esque PARKOUR headlong dive into awesome. And I really like it that way. 😀 I like seeing myself in others and my friends and I in other people or stories. Everything and everyone is a story and the MBTI sturf is just another fun lens to view it all in.

Also, I really really love the band Walk the Moon and these two music videos are extremely ENFP and INFJ in my opinion. (Hope you don’t mind me linking, it’s just their music videos for the songs Shut Up and Dance (one of those overplayed songs that I just don’t care cause I love it so) and Anna Sun, and I hope you like them?? But no worries if you don’t.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JCLY0Rlx6Q (Lol seriously at the 3 minute mark is such an INFJ wanting to ENFP it up on the dance floor moment IT ME)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDVW81bXo0s (This is the inside of my head lol thank you <3)

I also just love when songs fit a certain type or ya know the Hogwarts Houses or other fandom stuff. It's cool!! Thanks for the fab post. I really like that your blog is about more than "just" books.

    1. Thank you! 🤓
INFJ’s are considered to be the most sociable of introverts so much so that they can be mistaken for one. Fictional and historical INFJ’s are so unbelievably bad-ass that I’m a little jealous paha.😔 Rock on with your assertiveness. 😉
Girl, this is sooooo not an ENFP world, we’re too much of a revolutionary (as are INFJ’s too)… this is an SJ world, for sure because they lend order and stability.
Dude, you saw those INFJ’s… is Jon Snow a sidekick? He’s the freaking Son of Ice and fiyah 🔥🔥🔥🔥 own it! INFJ’s are warm, insightful, great communicators, intelligent! And you are not a side-kick, you’re a heroine!
I do like the leader-esque parkour though because that is so me. 🤓

I barely know any Western musicians, I’m so Bollywood paha, but I listened to the song… I loved it! I’m guessing the singer is INFJ and girl is ENFP?

And the second video, is that you, yeahhhh?

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Yeah that second video is me all the way haha.

And lol I guess I do relate a lot to Jon “You know nothing” Snow 😛 He’s a badass and a bit of a goob sometimes. I think I’ve seen that Arya is often classified as an ENFP which makes sense to me!

        Liked by 1 person

        1. Loved the video, I guess INFJ’s are undercover goofballs, eh?

Not sure what a goob is, but he’s definitely badass! And a genuinely good and humble person. So, yes, believe in your sauce. 🙌🏼
Oh no, Arya is straight up ISTP, she’s Westeros’s Robin Scherbatsky (love her though). I would probably say I’m in between Tyrion-Daenerys… I want to be Sansa though. 😔

  8. You’re quite camera confident! Um, like I already told you, I don’t really believe your traits character or nature can be measured in % but mine said 91% introvert, so yeah I guess it’s right. Also, i think you’re more than just 61% extrovert! 80-90% maybe?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Is it bad if I say I love being in front of the camera? I wanted to be an actress after all lol. 😂

I completely agree. We’re far too complex to be narrowed down to a percentage lol. But there is definitely some truth to it as we see with your 91% introversion. I mean it was obvious you were an ISTx, I would be surprised if you got anything else.

Paha, definitely not 80-90%. I feel more of an ambivert-extrovert hybrid. Sometimes I want alone time… but with other people around me lol.

  9. Wow I did not know that you would get campaigner I did the test before watching the video and the result I got was Campaigner but (ENFP, -A/-T) campaigner I don’t know if that’s different or is it just the same? Thank you for this link though! It’s amazing!!!!! C 🙂
