Guys, guys, guys. I can’t believe it’s the big 100. It feels like I’ve written a lot more than that, why?!
My blog was initially supposed to be strictly about books but as life has progressed with its many, many interesting, awesome, worrying and shocking events, it only felt right that my blog went beyond books. I love books, but they are not everything to me. Books are a starting point for further possibilities. Real life is always far more interesting and important. That is for me, obviously.
Going forward, my goals are to remain as varied as possible. I want to write about anything I’m passionate about be it news, articles, feminism, dishing advice, spreading positivity, book reviews, fun tags and the grand thing that is life itself. Going forward, I want my blog to have meaning. I want it to have a purpose, I don’t want to write fluff. I don’t want to fangirl to the point that I’m not making a point. I want to be as honest and authentic as possible even if it means kicking convention to the curb. I have no interests in picking a niche. This is a personal blog not a business. I’m here to talk about me, you and anyone who strikes my interest (or disgust, ugh).
My one other goal was to receive more engagement and this year I’m so shocked and grateful by how much I’ve gotten to interact and bond with you guys. We’ve debated, discussed, supported, and befriended and it’s been a whole lot of fun. Thank you so much to everyone who has commented, liked and read, you’ve made my blogging journey a whole lot more interesting.
Ah, do you know who I want to especially thank? You boys and men are lovely… but I have a special place in my heart for the girls (sorry, I’m a girls girl). Correction, my girls. I think I will always be the kind of person who appreciates compliments and support from my own sex. I’ve always tended to have an equal number of male and female friends, but I always wanted more girl pals! There are a number of people I want to thank (this is in no particular order) who are my OG’s:
Written in Ink: when I first started following Saman, I noticed she was not afraid to be honest about voicing her opinion on books even if they are popular. She is also so damn fierce and ambitious!
Of All the Books in All the Libraries: mother is a sassy savage and like Saman, she is also a feminist. She is to the point, supportive, hilarious and always manages to make me laugh. Lit!
Littlemisssunshine: I think we are the same person quite honestly. She is another feminist (notice a trend?). She is really warm and honest!
A Fresh Outlook: Right now, I’m considering her a little sister as both she and my little sister share a two-year age gap. Her political satire and political outlook are entertaining and informative, and she shows a maturity way beyond her age. Watch this space!
TheWebWeavers: I think I’ve followed these two since the Dark Ages. We’re both pretty similar except I’m not comfortable with being alone and in addition, we’re both Gemini’s.
Katedaysaweek: okay, she’s not an OG but… she has been so warm, welcoming, fun and helpful and she watches Game of Thrones!
Lloyd Len’s Photography: I’m sorry but I’m just going to consider you as one of the girls (it’s a compliment, I promise!). Lloyd has been supportive and warm from the start way back when I barely had any followers as well as given me plenty of advice.
Theceaselessreaderwrites: join the “one of the girls” club. I’ve always enjoyed his political commentary and I admire how level-headed he is. Always dishing sound advice.
Thelonelyauthorblog: another one joins the club. So amazing, warm, wonderful and generous. Really very much a genuinely kind person.
Hopefully, who knows, this list might even extend by the end of the year!

You’re so kind. ❤️ Thank you for those amazing words, I can’t express how much they mean to me and it’s so nice to hear that you read everything I write (I read all yours too!). And yes, whether I visit India or you visit London, we must meet up. Much love, hope exams are going well or if they’ve finished, I hope they’ve gone well. 🤗

Thanks for the wishes! Exams went well! Although I would definitely encourage you to visit India, I really want to visit London right now. Maybe we can meet in Paris; I can’t tell you how badly I want to go there. 🙂

So glad to hear it went well, thought it would! I know my family are all dying to go to Paris so yes, for sure, meet there and hopefully India, after watching highway and seeing how beautiful even the remote places are. 😍

Yes, this is besides the point, but a lot of people, mostly Indians, actually under-appreciate the diversity of tourist spots in India. After visiting a series of scenic natural locations, ancient monuments, hill stations, temples (and of course, relatives’ homes) over the past year, I have begun to understand the true beauty of this country. I really hope that our government starts promoting more tourism. But glad to hear that you want to visit India!
And Paris, of course, is another one of my dream destinations!

That sounds so beautiful. It seems like then that you have to take yourself outside of the major cities and explore the less traveled areas to really see the beauty of India. It’s strange isn’t it that it is really the simple things like nature that really give you that sense of calm? And yes, definitely, but I do feel that if these more remote areas became tourism spots, they may make changes to spruce it up instead of letting it be. Hikes and tours would be a good idea.

Congratulations on your 100th post, Sophia! I have to say I really enjoy your posts and I hope to read so many of your posts in the future. Not everyone is courageous enough to voice their opinions on political and social issues.
Also, thank you for what you said about me. It means a lot! ❤
